I know it want speed things up however if I'm only dealing with just the one company it will lessen my chances of defaulting.

Do you pay your bills online? And do you have some other method of bill tracking or budgeting? These things makes bills very easy to keep up with. If anything, knowing when your bills are due enables you to pay them on time, even when the postman is late. If I only had 2 bills to keep up with, I'd go ahead and do a happy dance just over that!

It will also take the one card to well over a 50% usage rate. I don't know much about FICO, but some say that can have a negative impact on your FICO score.
