I know several people who have/had sleep apnea and after losing a significant amount of weight, a couple of them no longer suffer from it.

I know being overweight is part of it, but it could be more complicated than just that. I know plenty of people who snore who are not heavy. I'm not sure if they have sleep apnea symptoms, but at least they are candidates.

So it could be just the shape or flabbiness of your throat or vocal chords. Or even the sleeping position you happen to fall into.
