I know the Prius' batteries are warrantied for 10 yrs/100K

It's 8 years/100K miles. I've owned a Prius for ~1.5 years.

Toyota says that they expect at least 150K miles out of them. But it is also important to note that when the "battery" goes bad, it doesn't mean that every cell has gone bad. It in not like your typical 12v lead-acid battery that is completely in one case. It is more like a bunch of D-cell flashlight batteries -- although they aren't that shape.
