I like to put all my household expenses on a rewards card of some type, which has worked out quite nicely in the past. British Airways has reward Visa offer that will yield 100,000 "Avios" (miles) with sign-up bonus and enough spending. That's enough for a round trip business class ticket.

Keep in mind that you will have to spend $10,000 within the first three months to get the 50,000 signup miles and the 25,000 bonus miles. Then you will have to spend another $10,000 within the first year to get the final 25,000 bonus miles.

In addition, British Airways award flight require the payment of taxes, fuel surcharges, and fees, which currently add up to around $600 for a US to Europe R/T business class ticket.

Knowing those facts, it can work for some folks.
