I live in Ireland (Euroland). I find Interactive Brokers good. I opened a Euro account. I transfer the Euro in via wire. Within the account, I then transfer funds to USD at pretty reasonable rates (you can check it out at their co.uk website) and then buy and sell US stocks using the USD cash. Typical stock transaction fee is USD 1. There is also a minimum monthly fee which is around USD 10. First USD 10 of transaction fees are offset against this. You can also do currency hedging via futures, etc.StevnFool
