I lived without a DW for 20+ years. When I moved into my house I thought I would hardle ever use it (maybe just for parties) - but then got sucked right in...now I use it for almost everything!

That said, I agree with Pipney Jane. Friends of mine who had just bought a house and on VERY tight finances had their DW die on them a month after they moved in. They waited a year and a half to buy a new one, until they had saved up the $$$.

You NEED a fridge. You don't really NEED a dishwasher...It's fine if you want to buy one - seems like you can afford it, but just remember it isn't really an emergency per se.
