I mean life changing, not just picking people's brains on what candidates they're presently looking at. That is not the learning experience we are talking about.

I agree completely, nic. Db was a heavy handed task master, and I would have said many of the things he said a little bit different, a little less harsh. But one thing about Db, as with a lot of coaches and teachers, is that his harshness and demands were only intended to make you better. He demanded a high level of discussion because without that things quickly degenerate into noise. I don't think that people realize that he would allow almost any discussion to occur so long as you could prove its relevance to CANSLIM, by argument if necessary.

The only reason I keep this board on my favorites list is to watch and see if he comes back. That's why I 'came out of the woodwork.' If its not hard, it usually means you are not accomplishing much. Db made it hard, and by doing so he shortened the learning period dramatically.

Chatting about this or that stock is a good way to pass the time, but it certainly is not hard.
