I need help finding a credit bureau in NY that can get the credit card companies off my
back. They are killing me with interest and late charges.

You agreed to those charges when you applied for the card and used it for the first time. Fortunately, in the US, the companies are also required to completely disclose the terms of the agreement. They can be tedious to read, but if you choose not to read them, then it is nobody's fault but your own.

Now you don't like it and want a way out.

Avoiding late fees is easy.... Make the minimum payment by the due date. Don't try to push it - make the payment as soon as you get the bill.

The only way to avoid interest is to pay off the accounts. Read the FAQ and pages about how to get out of credit card debt (links at the bottom of the page.). Quit charging to those cards and begin throwing all the money that you can toward reducing the balance. You must make above minimum payment.

We also advocate here asking for lower interest rates and using teaser rates, but if your credit report shows a history of late payment, you're unlikely to be offered those.
