I need input on a variety of small matters, therefor, here are my questions, INPO:

1) My cell phone has become my business phone. I'm assuming that it is appropriate to put my company name in addition to my own name on the outgoing message, correct?

I do this -- I don't think that my cell phone company cares what my voice mail greeting says. :)

2) Since my cell number will be on my business card, I can then write off the monthly cost, right?

This is a good question for your accountant. I don't think that just putting the number on your cards automagically makes it a write-off -- it depends on your actual use of the phone.

3) I've had several people ask me if I can/do offer telephone answering services for my clients. (I run a virtual assistant biz remember). I know it is possible to set up the telephones in such a way that they can forward their phones to my phones so that they may be answered "live", but I don't know the details. Where might I find information on this?

In my neck of the woods, you would need to go to your client's phone provider to find out the "code" for turning call forwarding on and off. Here, it is simply a "*" service like *67. They would also have to be subscribed to a plan that offers forwarding service.

4) What are USB ports and why do I need them? (Still shopping for that computer system.)

(Warning: Oversimplified explanation follows...) USB ports are "things" that allow you to attach other "things" to your computer like printers, scanners, charging/sync cradles for PDAs, and digital cameras. So yes, you will be happier if your new 'puter has some -- they come standard on most new systems.

Hope that helps!!
