I never checked the score before, so I don't know exactly what it was when it wasn't a problem. Maybe in the upper 700s or over 800. I always paid bills on time. Doing that right now too. But the damage was done from about 3 years ago until last year. It's nice if it goes away in a few years, but I suppose those missed payments will ALWAYS show up on the credit report. (They're in RED too!) So does that mean that even things that show up on the report don't count toward the credit score if they are 7 years old? culcha It will take time for your credit score to recover. Foreclosure stays on credit reports for 7 years. If asked, you still need to state that you did have a foreclosure. The missed payments will also fall of your report after 7 years, but their impact decreases over time. Have you dealt with the accounts that were closed by the creditor?
