I organize my day by what's most important to me. Like your writer's group which is non-negotiable. The gym has to become non-negotiable as well in order for you to make time to go there.

My best friend is the busiest person I know, yet she makes time for the gym because it's important enough of a priority for her.

My priority is schoolwork (MBA program) so that is a non-negotiable for me. I make time for homework.

Map out your days on a calendar to see how your week looks. Then add the gym visits on the calendar on those days that you think you can squeeze it in. Then JUST DO IT!

Also, do you have to go to the gym to get a decent workout? Are there things you can do outside of the gym (at home, in your neighborhood, etc) and still get a decent workout?

Just some random thoughts...
