I posted two weeks ago about shopping for a Honda Odyssey, arguing with a dealer about clearcoat, fabric protector, and bait-and-switch pricing, storming out of their dealership, and ultimately not buying a new car at all. Since then, we still get 2-3 e-mails PER DAY from the 20 or so various dealers around the state that we had contacted about pricing on '08 Odysseys. They were leaving 1-2 voice mails a day, but they seem to have given up on that channel this week. Even the dealer we yelled at and stormed out on keeps e-mailing to try to get us to buy from them (not going to happen, but their desperation amuses us now).

I think that Honda is not used to seeing last year's models still on the lot at this time of year, and the dealers are treading into new territory of sales desperation.
