I probably would too, but only after countering with "what can you take off for cash?"

All sales are cash sales for the dealer. Either you give them the cash or the bank does. They probably get a $200 flat fee from the manufacturer who is also buying down the rate from whatever the market rate is.

I've found the only reason most small businesses give you a discount for cash is that they can keep it off the books and the discount is pretty much limited to what you would have paid in sales tax.
