I purchased 300 shares of Dell computer in 1994, for around $30.00 per share. When it climbed to $41.00 a share I wisely listened to my broker who told me to sell. I did.

I was curious about what those would be worth today and it might be worth hammering this point home with anybody reading this.

As it turns out it was around Aug/Sept '94 DELL traded at a non-split adjusted $30/share. That's around $0.47 split adjusted. It's around $41.5 today.

According to Yahoo there have been six splits since then so using the split adjusted numbers we'll have to adjust your 300 shares to 19,200 shares.

So as it was you made 300*(41-30)=$3300
If you had held on you would have made roughly 19200*41=$787,200.
