I read an on-line article today where one of the voters said that he will vote for any player who wasn't formally "punished" by MLB for taking PEDs or 'roids or whatever.

IMO, by not beating the drum on these cheaters long before the situation got out of hand, the writers have no moral leg to stand on in their HOF voting. Hiding behind the outcomes of the league's enforcement policy is garbage. The writers have already failed the fans and the sport and the situation is now too complicated to clean up with these kind of HOF voting conditionals.

That said, I'd rather that Bonds did NOT get into the HOF. And I say this as a Giants fan. But either way this whole mess has made it no longer a revered accomplishment for me, which unfortunately is unfair to the non-juicers of the sport.
