I recently received a pre-approved credit card with a $100,000 limit. I just laughed as I tossed it into the garbage. It seems to me that companies that send such offers to college students are telling them that they realize that you have years of earnings potential and want to tap into that potential and basically, OWN you.In NY, a judgment against a person is good for 20 years, which means that, unless the judgment is discharged such as in a bankruptcy, the creditor can wait 20 years to collect, or can garnish wages over a long, long period of time to satisfy the judgment.Spread the word to your fellow students- don't let them fall into the trap!
