I replied to your first post and then came upon this one.
If your know anyone PERSONALLY in personnel send Beneficial to that person. Have them give out no information but to gather it. Then sue Beneficial for 100x the debt you owe them. They cannot tell anyone at your place of employment about the debt. If they go into your checking account, as some people indicated they might, not only can you sue them, but have the persons who authorized the withdrawls arrested for theft, and a few other things.
If they call ask to speak to the manager. Be rude, they seem to be rude to you so tell them you "will only speak to the person in charge, you refuse to speak to some minimum wage clerk who can't understand the law". Get his/her name tell that person to stop the phone calls immediately. Then send a registered follow-up letter "as a verification of our conversation on XX/XX/2000 you are now totally aware of my situation and are instructed not to contact me except via the U.S. Mail.
You could also send them all $5-10 (more if you can) with a letter stating "by cashing this check you agree to stop the phone harassment of me at work and home"

Hope all is going better.
