I see Honda Fits everywhere... looks like its price point could maybe make it the next Civic? Because Civics are getting pretty pricey at 20-24k... but, I just wonder about quality and safety of the Fit. Most of buyers of the Civic are paying for the long lifetime of 150-200k miles.

and yet, (Toyota) Scion is pricing just below them with similar quality and features....found myself suddenly pricing cars in mid Nov 07 to replace a stolen car. with $16,000 in cash and no wish for car payments Honda would not deal with me...the web price was not being honored in Dallas Honda Dealerships...they had a $2500 markup.

i bought a Scion X-D with enough leftover to buy LOJack.
i had been a reliable Honda driver since 1985

the safety is actually quite good....side air curtains, abs brakes, honda steering, crumple zone...FIT is a good car.
