I spend a fair amount of time at it and do a lot of work with some mapping programs like ArcGis and Mapinfo among the other of programs.

E-mail the computer manufacturer and ask for the specs (via written quote) for a computer to do what you do at work. Then hand the written quote to your boss and ask when will the computer be delivered--as it is from the manufacturer *they* use. Obviously, the machine you were given is a mistake because it it nothing like the written quote. The alternative would be to cite the incompetence of the computer manufacturer because the new machine does NOT do what they say it should do--which is run ALL your software at a reasonable speed and accuracy (because that is why the new computer was recommended and purchased in the first place--right?).

Boss/management is suddenly caught between a rock and a hard place. What do they do--and who do they blame?
