I started Atkins the last of Oct. '03 and I've lost 50 plus pounds and still losing. I've slowed down quite a bit the last couple of months, but I've increased my carb level to about 60 g. MORE IMPORTANT I've gone from feeling like I'm close to death, because of such a low energy level that my major activity for the day was getting out of bed and walking to the couch. Now I'm able to stand and walk for periods time close to an hour. My mind was a total blank as far as memory was concerned, but it is returning, it just take longer for a fact to bubble up to the conscious. My life has been improved greatly, and I have less depression. I'm MAD about the diet recomendations that my medical groups registered dietician handed out in classes given to Diabetics. I feel my body was harmed by using it. Before the diabetic diet, I'd been eating fewer carbohydrates just because I felt better when I did. Keep Walking!!
