I think lack of education about saving/investing/credit is a real problem. People don't see the whole picture. People don't think long term. Rare is the person who can see how putting off buying that new 'toy' is going to reap dividends 20 years from now (heck, even 6 months from now).

There are also circumstances which can get one into a real jam and getting out can be hard. I have had some really nasty circumstances, but the real fault was my failure to look at the bigger picture. Had I seen things properly, I would have been better prepared and weathered those circumstances with a lot less pain.

If only I had discovered Foolishness 10 years ago. Well, better late than never.
