I think the bugaboo about HFCS has been debunked, hasn't it? No, but probably not as bad as opponets claim or as neutral as supporters claim. The link is from an industry group. It is not a site that would mention anything bad. It is what they carefully don't say that is telling. Such as: Although it has not yet been specifically measured, high fructose corn syrup is expected to have a moderate GI due to its similar composition to honey and sugar. I am not impressed with fluffy arguments (from either side). They have the resources to determine the GI, but don't want to know. To much processed food is bad. HFCS is a cheap way to sweeten food. To lose weight it is necessary to consume less calories that are used. If it was easy to do, noone would be overweight. I don't want to know how many calories I bought yesterday (2 lbs of chocolate morsels, nuts, sugar, brown sugar, 2 lbs of butter, eggs, peanut butter). Cookies will be delivered shortly after cooling. If they stay in the house, they will learn my name.
