I, too, am 55 and new to investing on my own. I started a Roth IRA in 2001 and have my contribution up to date for 2002. I've thoroughly enjoyed working and learning on my own about investments and feel good about the choices I've made so far in the Roth. It's been a learning experience. I'm using Scottrade for my account but I imagine they are all fairly similar for the IRA world. Good luck.

Joan, loving this learning time of my life
