I too was intending to keep any KBR shares issued to I'm not inclined to tender my shares.

The original intent of Halliburton was to divest KBR because of Wall Street's inability to properly value Halliburton while it owned KBR. That remains the goal. The additional factors of investigations, the Democratic election victory, and declining margins are impacting the value of KBR, thereby dictating the tactic of the split off as opposed to a spin off or stock distribution.
