I use BankOne's bill pay and it's 4.95 a month--sometimes (they seem to charge me indiscriminately). It has all the advantages that everyone else has mentioned and one major disadvantage as one has mentioned. My bill-pay automatically sends payments once a month to my "payees" but it takes the money out of my account as soon as the check is sent. Recently one of my payees changes their billing address so they never received my payment. Of course I didn't find this out until 45 days later I got a letter from them telling me my payment was 45 days late and being reported to the credit agencies. As far as I was concerned I paid it--the money was out of my account. Now 4 months later, the issue still isn't resolved. The payee says they never got it. BankOne uses CheckFree and says it's not their fault--so they have to "research it." They have to pull up microfilm, microfiche or boot up their UniVAC or something for this to take so fricken long to resolve. In the interim, I had to make that payment twice and I'm out $150 until this gets resolved. If this was a normal check the money wouldn't have come out of my account until they cashed it. After a couple weeks I would have noticed and resolved the issue before it got worse.J
