I used to live every month -- especially the last week of the month -- in fear of a math error causing an accidental overdraft. I was constantly shifting bills around before or after payday to try to cover running out of money at the end of the month. Then I started using budgeting software called YNAB (You Need A Budget). One of the concepts it teaches is to budget and spend last month's income instead of this month. It takes a while to build up a bank balance large enough to do that, but SOOOOOO worth it. I no longer stress out about overdrafting because I know the money for the current bills is already in the bank.

Now I still need to learn how to stick to the budget and stop going over, especially in certain categories that I consistently plan to spend X but seem to always end up spending X + $75... That is the current stress point in my life that I would love to resolve.
