I was comfortable in my 300 sq ft apartment in NYC. It cost $1750/month, including heat, water, hot water, electricity, gas. It was quiet, sunny, had a washing machine and a pleasant enough courtyard view. Weekends with the window open I could hear live music from a local cafe. The only parts I didn't like were all the stairs, especially when carrying 2 bags of groceries, and occasional noise from the radiator--and no A/C and not enough heat (with free electricity, I supplemented with the little electric heater from the RV and an electric heating pad).

It's up over 60 degrees now, a good time to go to Magnolia Plantation--2 for the price of one in January. Camellias are in bloom! The hubster is puttering around with something (may it please be the office paperwork blizzard!)...I'll see if he's interruptable.
