I was not that impressed with the Christie speech. It was a good cheerleading speech for the audience and it was a good re-election speech for Christie, but I doubt that it garnered one more vote.

First, too bad the coordinator didn't pay more attention to the theme of Ann Romney's speech being love only to be followed by Christie who told us to take respect over love.

He probably spent at least half or better on his life and his accomplishments, before he mentioned Romney. The generalities about we will not lie to you and we will do the hard things are nice, but not very effective at getting votes.

Ann won the night. Christie was a distant 2nd, 3rd, or 4th in the list of effective speakers.

Today, it is being referred to as "thematic".
