I was recently married and I opened a ROTH IRA in my name. I put in the max. Can my wife add her 2000 to it also, if I have the IRA as joint? Our AGI is well below the cutoff. Thanks, I am new at this.

You cannot open a joint IRA. You can open one for her and she can fully fund it for the same year as you fully fund yours. So, between the two of you, you can contribute $4000 for the year: $2000 into yours, and $2000 into hers.

Out of curiosity, where is yours? What funds do you hold in it?

Caat
