I was trained as an experimental psychologist, specializing in binaural auditory processes, but most of my career I directed a high tech group that developed speech recognition.

Could you define "binaural"? I have heard the term before - it was the title of the last Pearl Jam album, I believe - and always wondered what it meant. My dictionary was not specialized enough to include it. I realize I could do a google search and try to determine the meaning from context and usage, but I'd like a simple definition from an expert.
Thanks in advance.
