I wish my dad would have talked more about his service time, but after reading William Manchester's book on the Pacific theater, I really understood why.

I'm like you. I love the mushy stuff! lol Did you read a Dear Abby column recently where a man wrote in that his wife's mother left a bunch of letters between her husband and her from WWII with no instructions on what to do with them? Abby's 'advice' was to throw them out. AAAARGH!!! What a treasure for that family! I sure hope they didn't. I'm sure some day a grandkid or great-great-great grandkid will appreciate them. Just the fact the woman kept them all those years meant she really valued them.
