I would put it back in the market. Diversify. Stocks, mutual funds, etc. I'm 45 and in the process of opening a brokerage acct IRA and transfering a 401k from an old job.
Good call on your timing in 2008. I'm a long term invester and tend to leave my money where it is. I've only invested in mutual funds through my 401k's and now learning about stocks. I'm planning to move about 40-50% of my portfolio into stocks. Risky? yeah, but the timing seems right.
