I would think 3 to 6 mo contract would be appropriate. It can always be extended if you need to.They do say it has become a sellers market in some areas. Let's hope yours moves quickly. Then no concern. Three month contract lets you see how realtor is handling your property and gives you options if you are unhappy.But most realtors say they will cancel a contract at any time. There is no use trying to keep someone who is unhappy. Of course they retain a list of contacts they will receive commission for if they sell. The main issue then becomes expenses to list (and sometimes advertize and promote) the property.
