I would't know where he could get help since it has been 12 years since I have left Penn State. But I am sure with the size of Penn State, they would have a number of programs to help students pay for school. He will need to contact the financial aid office.

Some of the ways students paid for school when I was there.
RA - resident assistant in the dorm halls, I think it gave you free room and board and some money.
TA - teaching assistant, I instructed a basic chemistry lab class my senior year.
Job - work on campus such as the cafeteria or offcampus.
Internships - work for a company during the summer or one semester, decent money and great experience, many times leads to permanent position after graduating. Became available after I left.

RecoveringFool attended Penn State and may be able to help.

The title of the book is "The Fifth and Far Finer than the First Four Best Things Anybody Ever Said". It caught my eye because it was only $1. I had a good laugh when I read some of it.
