I'm confused. Do you mean you don't qualify for a subsidy? Or do you mean you don't make enough income to get to Obamacare? If so, depending on your state, you could qualify for Medicaid.

Our income is too high. We do not qualify for a subsidy.

A quick check of the Kaiser Foundation calculator
http://kff.org/interactive/subsidy-calculator/
shows that you could buy a Silver Plan for your and your son for $683 a month even if your income was 200K a year (I used "all states average").


Yes, that plan is available, but according to Broker I have discussed plans with, that one does not cover cancer. To have same coverage we currently have is well over $900.

We are going to ride it out and hope better options become available.
