I've worked for Block for 15 years as a part time seasonal employee in the best office in our district. All but one of the tax preparers are enrolled agents and the one who isn't is only a second year preparer. We are never in the office alone. Has to be at least two people there. They've improved front desk coverage this year and we have a great office leader who protects us from the corporate nonsense as much as she can. I'm in a corporate office as compared to a franchise so not sure how that would compare. I make acceptable income from a part time job that allows me to tell them when I'm available to work. Yes, we use computer software to do the tax returns and while any software has quirks, what we are using has improved over the years. My district was part of the pilot project when they switched to new software in 2013/2013 and my office had the best record with that software in our district. Let me know if you have other questions.
