If anything, I think his weight may be up, in spite of his daily workouts and vegetarian diet.

I can personally attest to the fact that unless you also control your caloric intake you can (easily) gain weight on a vegetarian diet. When I first start eating vegetarian, my weight increased. That was because I was relying on calorically dense foods like cheese, nuts, seeds, nut butters, dried fruit, granola. Oh, yeah, the cupcakes and candy bars didn't help matters.

(I didn't give up meat to lose weight, I gave it up because I can't stand anything about it--the look, the taste, the smell, the's gross to I didn't even think about the calories in the non-meat foods I began eating).
