If someone is taking a long time in picking, I often will scan their roster for which position they need and then make a recommendation (sometimes a good one, sometimes not quite as good). Telling another owner who they will draft right before they pick them can be rather disconcerting.

Otherwise rational people can panic during a draft, especially when you have limited time like in Yahoo. Getting a person to focus on their typing and retorts (or your typing and retorts) is a good way to get them to stop thinking about their next pick.


You and I were the only ones really talking. I was surprised by the lack of talk.

Only once during the draft did I take a long time to make a decision on which player to pick. The other times were just for fun. I wonder if anyone made a rash decision when I was making my "tic toc" comments.
