If we were SERIOUS we'd be subsidizing their construction of nuclear plants, hydro, solar and wind as well as our own.

We'd be imposing a CO2 tax and tariff combination on ourselves. Working WITH the EU rather than against them.

Our combined economies consume a hell of a lot of what China and India produce. They'd negotiate. You keep using their CURRENT figures as their unchanged response to a changed economic environment, and that isn't even half of reasonable. That would be the pure-greed response, and it is in fact quite unlikely if there were a strong western tariff/boycott response (stick) coupled with some sort of assistance to get them a low CO2 infrastructure.

Yet our own output of CO2 per capita is 17 tonnes vs their 7... WE are the criminals in this piece.

...and we aren't serious Albaby. Not yet. Maybe when we lose Miami... I don't know what the trigger will be to get us to be serious, but it will be pretty catastrophically bad. My assertion was that both the Democrats and the Republicans would become irrelevant... so think of a calamity that could upset things to that degree... that could bring the Green party of the USA to a majority in the House. THEN we'll be able to be serious.

...and it will be far far too late then.
