If Whole Foods does not take whatever steps neccessary, however drastic their impact on the rats, they would soon be shut down by the local health authorities. I really don't want to debate whether rats are 'good' or 'bad'. However they are disease carrieers and there is ample justification for keeping them out of our food supply. Instead of punishing Whole Foods for doing what is required of them (getting rid of the rats), did you ever offer them any sort of effective alternative? If the choice is free-range rats, glue traps, or poison, I'll choose the glue.

I'd offer my local store the services of my two cats, but they are already fat enough ;-)

Come to think of it, if the pest control method really was this big of a deal, there would be absolutely no place to buy groceries anyway...
