If you carry some pull, perhaps you can educate other employees there about the perils of high-cost investing. If enough employees are asking for the benefit to be improved (the employer should pay for the benefit plan, not the employees), it may have more chance of going through.You are right! One problem is the company did a wonderful job a selling this to the employees (even me) 3 years ago. Of course the stock market was doing well and everyone was making money. The out of sight out of mind deal. Even back then I had a question that came up was why didn't the company fight a lot harder to give us a 401(k)? The answer I think lies in who is footing the bill.Once I get the numbers I am sure that I will be able to open a few eyes but I am not sure if I will be able to open enough of them.
