If you consider a sedan, I would go with the Toyota Camry. They are a very reliable car and give a smooth ride. I have only had to do routine maintenance on my 1994 Camry. I would also choose it because it has a full size spare tire which I think is a safer option if you have a flat miles from the nearest town.

From personal experience, it is also a safe car. Our previous Camry helped protect my wife when she was in a car accident that totalled the car when she was 38 weeks pregnant.
