If you don't think an ambassador getting killed is a big deal you might want to reset your big-deal-ometer. My, how things have changed. When 17 Americans were killed in the United States embassy bombing in Beirut, the needle on conservative's big-deal-ometer never moved an inch. Evidently, the murder of the CIA's top Middle East analyst and Near East director, the Station Chief, most of the Beirut staff of the CIA and several Marine Security Guards was not serious enough for conservatives to demand accountability. Oh wait... Reagan was president then.
