If you include government/union workers with significant guaranteed pensions, the numbers are going to look significantly different. vkgMy public school teacher friend retired at age 56 with a pension equal to about 87.5% of the average of his high three salary years. I don't know he had in savings when he REed but his wife told me they're living on half the pension and banking the rest. There are many more public school employees just like him that don't need much savings since they have the gold plated pension plan.Mike
