If you really want to change your front door to open in the opposite direction of what it does now, I am sure you can buy a door and get it installed.

In my house that is not practical. Foyer is at the foot of stairs to upstairs and wall of foyer is door to guest closet.

Both doorknobs (front door and glass storm door) are on the left. If on the right, you would stand against the garage wall to enter the house and entry to the living room would be blocked by the open door. You would be invited to step up the stairs so door could be closed to let you into the living room.

In this case door must be opened with right hand.

Yes, if I had a larger garage or a smaller car, I would have more options. But being a large person makes me favor a full sized car. This one at least fits in the garage with room to spare.

When I shop for houses I bring tape measure along to measure the garage. I have learned the hard way some are quite small. 24' long is my minimum.
