I'll try for quite a few of them, but usually only the ones that seem fun or interesting (such as a lot of the ones in the Portal games), but some are too tedious to bother with.

I'm the same, however it has to be a game I like. Mind you this is with Steam so I don't get gamer points. But for a tittle I like I may see what is out there and if I can grab some more. If I don't like the game, well, I'm not playing it more.

I do like the global stats on Steam. I like when they have achievements that track how far you get in the game. Huh, so 75% who bought it actually played, 50% got through the tutorial, 25% made it to the half way point and 10% finished. No wonder so many games are front loaded.
