Believe it or not the cables arrived today (required 2 trips to the PO, on the first trip the mail hadn't arrived yet.) But it's only a 1/2 mile round trip and I like the exercise. Later in the afternoon while I was walking the pups in the swamp UPS came with the lamp wire. Haven't even opened that box yet.In the meantime the sub is now hooked up using one cable, there is now HDMI from satellite to AVR to TV, an optical digital audio is installed (as there is no ARC), the DVD is hooked back in with its component cables, and Hal even figured out how to hook up the VCR! He hooked the satellite to the VCR bypassing the amp (no appropriate outputs), but we can play back through the amp on AV5. He's written up a text file so we can remember which buttons to push to make it work.I have not yet run YPAO, looks like that will happen tomorrow. But I turned on the DVD player and the LotR sounded INCREDIBLE!! Ran Luna and Ziggy right out of the room! When I demo'd it to Hal though He put his hands over his ears so I had to turn it down. A lot. *sigh* (I blame the many Grateful Dead concerts he attended before we met.) He does think it sounds and looks pretty damn good though.I am pleased.RM
