I'm also left handed.. I wouldn't worry about playing a righty guitar, you fingering skills may be better and your strumming a little worse than "normal".

Oh, I hadn't considered the option of playing it the way it was intended. That just feels wrong when I pick it up. I naturally want to use my left hand for strumming. I'll give it a try playing right handed but for some reason I think I'll have a tough time with that (although logically I guess strumming with my right hand shouldn't take too much dexterity so it may work).

Don't try to play upside down. The guitar is arranged so that the bass strings are on top and the treble on the bottom. Fingering and chord formations depend on it to an extent.

That's what I was wondering. I'm sure I can memorize whatever fingering techniques I want but I don't want to make life harder for myself if there's a logical pattern to the way things are structured. I can't see that restringing the guitar is worth it.

Thanks for the advice.
