I'm an Aussi with a Japanese family .

Unless I've misinterpreted, nobody is a US citizen or resident, so US tax law isn't going to be of any use to you. We're a terrific group here at Tax Strategies, but I doubt there's anyone here who can help you.

You might try the Usenet group misc.taxes.moderated. (You can get to newsgroups through Google if your ISP doesn't support them.) There are a couple of pros there who deal with international issues.

You also might pop over to the Fool's Baby Boomer Board ( ) and introduce yourself to Samuri Will. He's a US citizen living in Japan with a Japanese wife. He probably couldn't give you much advice, but he might be able to give you some clues on where to start.

Good luck.
