I'm doiing exactly what the OP is doing.
And, yes, I've almost already beaten the S & P since Memorial Day, when I had my account rolled over available for stock trading. Since 1994, I made a grand total in my 457 plan(and, yes, in mutuals not changed that often-S&P, Fidelity, T. Row, etc.)of 15%. TOTAL. Would have done better buying a CD!

Also, back to school and winter is just beginning. August, I'm sure is historically rough, but I have no doubt that it'll be a nice ride from Labor Day on.:-)
